B Srinivasan appointed as GM, Food Corporation of India (Punjab Region)

B Srinivasan (IAS:2011:PB) has been appointed to the post of General Manager, Food Corporation of India (Punjab Region, Chandigarh) for a period of three years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (25.11.2022), the competent authority has approved the appointment of Mr. Srinivasan to the post on deputation basis under the central staffing scheme for a period of three years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

SC Collegium recommends two Addl. Judges of Chhattisgarh HC as Permanent Judges

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended appointing two Additional Judges of the Chhattisgarh High Court as Permanent Judges of that High Court. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Collegium held on November 23, 2022.

They are :

  1. Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas
  2. Justice Naresh Kumar Chandravanshi

SC Collegium recommends elevation of six Judicial Officers as Judges of Rajasthan HC

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the elevation of six Judicial Officers as Judges of the Rajasthan High Court. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Collegium held on 23rd November 23, 2022.

They are ;

  1. Rajendra Prakash Soni
  2. Ashok Kumar Jain
  3. Yogendra Kumar Purohit
  4. Bhuwan Goyal
  5. Praveer Bhatnagar
  6. Ashutosh Kumar

SC Collegium recommends elevation of two Advocates as Judges of Rajasthan HC

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the elevation of two Advocates as Judges of the Rajasthan High Court. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Collegium held on 23rd November 23, 2022.

They are ;

  1. Anil Kumar Upman
  2. Nupur Bhati.

SC collegium recommends transfer of 7 HC judges

The Supreme Court Collegium headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud on Thursday (24.11.2022) recommended the transfer of seven judges of High Courts.

They are;

  1. Justice V M Velumani: Madras High Court to Calcutta High Court
  2. Justice Battu Devanand: Andhra Pradesh High Court to Madras High Court
  3. Justice D Ramesh: Andhra Pradesh High Court to Allahabad High Court
  4. Justice Lalitha Kanneganti: Telangana High Court to Karnataka High Court
  5. Justice Dr. D Nagarjun: Telangana High Court to Madras High Court
  6. Justice T Raja: Madras High Court to Rajasthan High Court
  7. Justice A Abhishek Reddy: Telangana High Court to Patna High Court

The Collegium has decided not to recommend the transfer of Justice Nikhil Kariel, Judge of the Gujarat High Court because the Gujarat Bar protested against the proposed transfer.

UP: Many IPS officers sit idle, with no work allotted

Many IPS officers in Uttar Pradesh are waiting for postings for many months while they are being given full salaries on time. There are 11 IPS officers in the state who have been taking salaries without work for the past several months. All of them are attached to the DGP headquarters, but they have not been given any responsibility.

These 11 IPS officers are; DK Thakur (IPS:1994:UP), Vijay Singh Meena (IPS:1996), Mutha Ashok Jain (IPS:1995:UP), GK Goswami (IPS:1997:UP), Ajay Kumar Mishra (IPS:2003:UP), Anant Dev Tiwari (IPS:2006:UP), Pawan Kumar (IPS:2009:UP), Dinesh Tripathi (IPS), Rohan P Botre (IPS:2016:UP), Hemant Kutiyal (IPS:2011:UP) and Shiv Hari Meena (IPS:2010:UP).

Apart from all this, ADG rank IPS officer Jasvir Singh (IPS:1992:UP) has been suspended for three and a half years. Alankrita Singh (IPS:2008:UP) has been suspended since April, while Mani Lal Patidar (IPS:2014:UP) remains behind bars.

Not only that,27 PPS officers, inducted into the IPS cadre are waiting for postings. They are forced to work on the PPS chair. Among these IPS officers, only three officers Dinesh Singh SP Barabanki, Brijesh Srivastava SP Kaushambi, and Omveer Singh, SP Ghazipur have got the posting. Along with this, 14 IPS officers of the 2017 batch are also in the line for posting.

On the other hand, there are many officers in the state responsible for several departments. When we look at the top level of police administration, we get a sense of reality. This is because the DGP of the state, DS Chauhan (IPS:1987:UP), oversees the work of both DG Vigilance and DG Intelligence. Vijay Kumar Maurya (IPS:1990:UP) is also looking after the work of DG Home Guard along with ADG Logistics. RK Vishwakarma (IPS:1988:UP) has the charge of DG EOW along with the chairman of the Police Recruitment Board.

UP: Yogi govt to implement Police Commissionerate system in three more districts

The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to implement a Police Commissionerate system in Agra, Ghaziabad, and Prayagraj on the lines of Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, and Noida. On Friday, the state cabinet, headed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, approved a proposal in this regard.

Despite not knowing which officer of what rank would be appointed Police commissioner in these districts, official sources said that an officer of Inspector General of Police (IG) rank or above may be posted.

Initially, the Police Commissionerate system was implemented in Lucknow and Noida in 2020. A year later, in 2021, the government added Kanpur and Varanasi to the Commissionerate System.

Ms. Niva Singh returns to parent cadre

Ms. Niva Singh (IRAS:1988), Joint Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs has been prematurely repatriated to her parent cadre. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (24.11.2022), the competent authority has approved the premature repatriation of Ms. Singh to her parent cadre on the grounds of availing benefits of promotion in the cadre.

Rajeev Kumar appointed as Director in Ministry of Culture

Rajeev Kumar (IRS-IT:2006) has been selected for appointment to the post of Director in the Ministry of Culture, Delhi for a period of five years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (24.11.2022), the central government has approved the appointment of Mr. Kumar to the post under the central staffing scheme for a period of five years from the date of taking over the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Manoj Kumar Singh gets extension as Private Secretary to Union Minister Raj Kumar Singh

The deputation tenure of Manoj Kumar Singh (IAS:2009:BH) as Private Secretary, Raj Kumar Singh, Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy in the Ministry of Power has been extended for a period of one year. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved to extend the deputation tenure of Mr. Singh for a period of one year beyond 19.12.2022 i.e. upto 19.12.2023, in relaxation of upper limit of 5 years of working as PS/OSD in the Ministry’s staff or on co-terminus basis with the Minister or till he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
