Bihar: Two IAS officers get additional charges

The Election Commission of India has deputed two IAS officers from the Bihar cadre for election duty as General Observers in the Assembly Elections of Chhattisgarh and Mizoram. During their election duties, the charges of both officers will be temporarily assigned to two other IAS officers.

The Election Commission of India has deputed two IAS officers from the Bihar cadre for election duty as General Observers in the Assembly Elections of Chhattisgarh and Mizoram.Here are the details of their assignments:

  1. Narmdeshwar Lal (IAS:1998:BH), who serves as the Principal Secretary in the Sugarcane Industry Department in Patna, has been appointed as the General Observer for the Chhattisgarh Assembly election.
  2. Giriwar Dayal Singh (IAS:2008:BH), holding the position of Sugarcane Commissioner in Patna, has been designated as the General Observer for the Mizoram Assembly election.

During their election duties, the charges of both officers will be temporarily assigned to two other IAS officers. Additionally, there have been some reassignments of roles within the Bihar cadre:

  1. Sanjay Kumar Agrawal (IAS:2002:BH), who is the Secretary of the Agriculture Department and holds additional charges in the Transport Department and as Inquiry Commissioner in the GAD, has been given an additional charge as the Secretary of the Sugarcane Industry Department.
  2. Alok Ranjan Ghosh (IAS:2011:BH), who currently serves as the Director of the Agriculture Department, has been given an additional charge as the Sugarcane Commissioner.
