RECPDCL hands over Ryapte Power Transmission SPV to Tata Power

RECPDCL has handed over Ryapte Power Transmission Limited, the SPV for Karnataka's 2,000 MW solar park evacuation project, to The Tata Power Company Limited.

New Delhi, July 31, 2026: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, has handed over Ryapte Power Transmission Limited, the project-specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for the Evacuation Scheme for 2000 MW Solar Park at Ryapte Village, Tumkur District, Karnataka, to The Tata Power Company Limited.

The handover took place on July 30, 2026, after The Tata Power Company Limited emerged as the successful bidder through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, the Bid Process Coordinator, for the development of the intra-state transmission project on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.

The SPV was handed over by Monisha Barua, General Manager & HoD, RECPDCL, to Tarun Katiyar, CEO & MD, TPTCL, in the presence of the Managing Director of Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) and senior officials from KPTCL, The Tata Power Company Limited and RECPDCL.

The transmission project envisages the establishment of 400/220 kV substations at Ryapte and Doddathaggalli (near Hosakote), construction of around 207 km of 400 kV double-circuit transmission line, 57 km of 220 kV double-circuit transmission line, along with other associated works. The project is scheduled to be implemented over 30 months at an estimated cost of Rs 3,200 crore.
