Uttarakhand transfers 11 IAS, IFS officers; Ravinath Raman, Nitesh Jha get new roles

The Uttarakhand government has transferred 11 IAS and IFS officers. Ravinath Raman, Nitesh Kumar Jha, Brajesh Kumar Sant and others have been assigned new responsibilities.

The Uttarakhand government on Friday (July 24, 2026) issued a major bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring and assigning new responsibilities to 11 IAS and IFS officers with immediate effect.

According to an order issued by the Personnel & Vigilance Department, Lalrinliana Fanai (IAS:1997) has been relieved of the charge of Principal Secretary, Excise Department. He will continue to hold the posts of Principal Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Chairman, Uttarakhand Transport Corporation, and Commissioner, Agricultural Production.

Nitesh Kumar Jha (IAS:2002) has been relieved as Secretary, Information Technology, Good Governance & Science & Technology and has been appointed Secretary, Panchayati Raj Department. He will continue as Secretary, Urban Development.

Ravinath Raman (IAS:2004) has been shifted from the School Education (Primary & Secondary) Department and appointed Secretary, Transport Department and Transport Commissioner. He will continue to serve as Secretary to the Governor.

Dr Pankaj Kumar Pandey (IAS:2005) has been given additional charge of Secretary, Information Technology, Good Governance & Science & Technology Department. He will continue as Secretary, Public Works Department (PWD) and Chairman, BRIDCUL.

Brajesh Kumar Sant (IAS:2006) has been relieved as Secretary, Transport Department and Transport Commissioner. He has been appointed Secretary, Excise Department while continuing to hold charge of Industrial Development (Mining) and Director General, Mining.

Dr Surendra Narayan Pandey (IAS:2007) has been assigned the additional charge of Secretary, Sugarcane Development & Sugar Department. He will continue as Secretary to the Chief Minister, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, and Revenue.

Jyoti Yadav (IAS:2009), who was awaiting posting, has been appointed Secretary, School Education (Primary & Secondary).

Yugal Kishore Pant (IAS:2009) has been given the additional responsibility of Secretary, Secretariat Administration Department. He will continue as Secretary, Culture, Secretary, Soldiers’ Welfare, and Director General, Culture.

Ranveer Singh Chauhan (IAS:2009) has been relieved of the charge of Secretariat Administration Department and Sugarcane Development & Sugar Department. He has been appointed Secretary, Finance Department. He will continue to look after the Drinking Water Department.

Dr Parag Madhukar Dhakate (IFS) has been relieved of the charge of Special Secretary, Panchayati Raj Department. He will continue as Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, Minority Welfare, and Chairman, Minority Welfare & Waqf Development Corporation.

Abhishek Ruhela (IAS:2015) has been appointed Additional Secretary, State Property Department and State Property Officer. He will continue as Additional Secretary, Tourism Department, Additional CEO, Tourism Development Council, Project Director, UUSDA, and CEO, PMGSY.
