Himachal : CS Ram Subhag Singh applies for CIC post, RD Dhiman frontrunner for top post

With the incumbent Himachal Chief Secretary Ram Subhag Singh (IAS:1987:HP) vying for the coveted post of State CIC, the hunt for the post of Chief Secretary has begun.

Though Ram Subhag’s wife Nisha Singh (IAS:1987:HP), is the most senior IAS officer, it remains to be seen whether the Jai Ram regime will honor seniority or prefer an officer of his choice. RD Dhiman (IAS:1988:HP), Additional Chief Secretary, Power, and Industry is considered a frontrunner despite being fourth in the seniority list. There are two other officers — Ali Raza Rizvi and Sanjay Gupta from the 1988 batch, who are senior to Dhiman. While Rizvi is on Central deputation, Gupta is serving in the cadre state as an Additional Chief Secretary-rank officer.
