Delhi: Manipur Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel (IAS:1991:AGMUT) is likely to get an extension in service beyond his scheduled superannuation on August 31, 2026, according to sources.
Goel, who is on inter-cadre deputation to Manipur, has been serving as the state’s Chief Secretary since July 2025.
He succeeded Prashant Kumar Singh (IAS:1993:MN), who was appointed as Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST).
If approved, the extension would ensure continuity in the state’s top administrative post at a time when Manipur continues to witness important governance and administrative challenges.
