In a significant development, the central government on Thursday (August 27, 2026), appointed three officers in the National Testing Agency (NTA), which comes under the Department of Higher Education.
IPS officer Ravi Kumar Singh (IPS:2012:AGMUT) and IAS officer Prasanna Venkatesh V (IAS:2012:AP) have been appointed as Directors in the NTA, while IRS officer Amit Samdariya (IRS-C&IT:2016) has been appointed as Joint Director (Deputy Secretary level).
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Ravi Kumar Singh, who was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been appointed as Director under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of five years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Prasanna Venkatesh V has also been appointed as Director in the NTA under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of five years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Meanwhile, Amit Samdariya, who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Revenue, has been appointed as Joint Director (Deputy Secretary level) under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
