New Delhi: IRS officer Minhaj Uddin Nizami (IRS-C&IT:2016), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Revenue, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Commerce.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (October 28, 2026), his appointment has been approved under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
He is currently serving as Joint Commissioner in Mangalore, under the Bengaluru GST and Central Excise Zone.
