New Delhi: Harshvardhan Singh Khangarot (IP&TA&FS:2012), Director in the Ministry of Steel, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre on administrative grounds, with extended cooling off.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (October 27, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved his premature repatriation.
Khangarot was appointed as Director in the Ministry of Steel on May 14, 2026, for a tenure of five years. His central deputation was therefore scheduled to continue until 2031. However, he has been repatriated just a few months after taking up the assignment.
