The Centre has moved to strengthen the National Testing Agency (NTA), with two more appointments announced on Friday (August 28, 2026), a day after three officers were appointed to the agency. With the latest appointments, a total of five officers have been brought into the NTA within 24 hours.
IRS officer Sathiya S (IRS-IT:2011), currently serving as Director in the Ministry of Cooperation, has been appointed as Director in the National Testing Agency (NTA) under the Department of Higher Education on a lateral shift basis.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved her appointment on the recommendation of the Civil Services Board under the Central Staffing Scheme. She will serve in the NTA for a tenure up to August 24, 2030, the balance period of her five-year deputation tenure at the Director level, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
In another appointment, Anshuman Sharma (IRS-IT:2005) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the National Testing Agency under the Department of Higher Education for a period of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The DoPT order said that the ACC approved his appointment by temporarily upgrading a vacant Deputy Secretary/Director-level post to the level of Joint Secretary in the NTA for an initial period of two years.
A day earlier, on Thursday (August 27, 2026), the Centre had appointed IPS officer Ravi Kumar Singh (IPS:2012:AGMUT) and IAS officer Prasanna Venkatesh V (IAS:2012:AP) as Directors in the NTA, while IRS officer Amit Samdariya (IRS-C&IT:2016) was appointed as Joint Director (Deputy Secretary level).
