New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Sarit Maheshwari, Chief Executive Officer, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), Greater Noida, NTPC Limited, for appointment as Managing Director, NTPC Green Energy Limited.
The recommendation was made during the PESB selection meeting held on August 27, 2026. His name will now be forwarded to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final approval.
The appointment will be subject to vigilance clearance and completion of other prescribed formalities.
Notably, the post of Managing Director, NTPC Green Energy Limited, fell vacant on February 17, 2026. Since then, NTPC Chairman and Managing Director Gurdeep Singh has been holding the additional charge of Managing Director, NTPC Green Energy Limited.
A total of 10 candidates appeared before the PESB selection panel. They were:
- Vijay Chand, Regional Executive Director (Eastern Region-2) and Business Unit Head, Talcher Thermal (2×660 MW), NTPC Limited
- Sandeep Naik, Executive Director (Corporate Planning) and OSD to CMD, NTPC Limited
- Swapnendu Kumar Panda, Member (Technical), Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC)
- Ashok Kumar Sehgal, Chief Executive Officer, Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited
- Sarit Maheshwari, Chief Executive Officer, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), Greater Noida, NTPC Limited
- Ladu Kishore Behera, Regional Executive Director, NTPC Limited
- Ajay Kumar Singh, Executive Director HOD (Corporate Planning), SJVN Limited
- Abhyanand Thakur, Executive Director, NHPC Limited
- Manoj Kumar Rana, Executive Director, Power Finance Corporation Limited
