2025 batch IPS

The latest 2025 batch of IPS officers, recently passed-out from the National Police Academy in Hyderabad, will now be attached to their cadre controlling authority- the Union Home Ministry- before their probation and subsequent posting in respective cadres. Ministry officials are reported to have disclosed it on Wednesday. This is happening for the first time.

The latest batch, called the 78RR batch, comprises 151 trainee officers, including 16 foreign officers from neighbouring countries, who recently passed out from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) after completing their Phase-I training.

According to sources, a programme for their attachment with the Home Ministry was organised at Vigyan Bhavan on Thursday.

According to the Home Ministry’s 2023 directives, after completion of training at the SVPNPA, a probationer is required to undergo further training in the state he is posted to for a period as directed by the central govt in consultation with the state concerned.

It should be recalled here that Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan (IAS:1989:SK), who was the chief guest during the Dikshant Parade of this batch on October 17, had conveyed the message of Home Minister Amit Shah on that occasion to trainee officers emphasising zero tolerance towards terrorism, time-bound action and improved intelligence coordination.
