Delhi Police Reshuffle: 70 IPS, DANIPS officers reassigned

The Lt Governor of Delhi on Tuesday (March 3, 2026) ordered a major reshuffle in the Delhi Police, reassigning 50 IPS officers and 20 DANIPS officers. The transfers were issued through four separate orders and include three Director General (DG)-rank officers and seven Joint Commissioner of Police (Joint CP)-rank officers. Senior IPS officer Anand Mohan has been appointed as Director General (DG), Prisons.

The names of the IPS officers and their postings are as follows;

1. Virendra Singh (IPS:1991:AGMUT), DG, Civil Defence, has been transferred and posted as DG, Home Guards.
2. Anand Mohan (IPS:1994:AGMUT), on arrival, has been appointed DG, Prisons.
3. Surendra Singh Yadav (IPS:1997:AGMUT), on arrival, has been appointed DG. Civil Defence.
4. Sanjay Kumar Jain (IPS:2002:AGMUT), Joint CP, Southern Range, has been appointed as OSD to CP of Delhi, with additional charge of Joint CP, Tech & PI.
5. Kime Kaming (IPS-SPS:2003), Joint CP, Traffic, has been transferred as Joint CP, Armed Police.
6. Dheeraj Kumar (IPS-SPS:2004), Joint CP, Armed Police, has been transferred and posted as Joint CP, Crime (Anti-Narcotics Task Force).
7. Ajit Kumar Singla (IPS-SPS:2004), on Arrival, has been posted as Joint CP, Eastern Range.
8. Mahendra Nath Tiwari (IPS-SPS:2004), Joint CP, Security, has been given additional charge of Joint CP, Licensing.
9. Vijay Kumar (IPS:2007:AGMUT), OSD to CP of Delhi, has been transferred and posted as Joint CP, Southern Range.
