New Delhi: 2011-batch IPS officer Santosh Singh has assumed charge as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) for Delhi Metro security, officials said on Thursday (October 8, 2026).
Singh, a Chhattisgarh-cadre IPS officer, is currently on central deputation. Before his latest assignment, he was serving as DIG, South Zone-2, CISF, in Hyderabad.
In his new role, Singh will oversee security arrangements across the Delhi Metro network, which comprises 271 stations and connects Delhi with several cities in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
Before taking charge of the Delhi Metro security assignment, Singh was responsible for the security of industrial and strategic establishments across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and northern Karnataka, as well as ports along India’s eastern coast.
