UP: Officiating DGP Rajkumar Vishwakarma retiring this month

Who will be the next acting DGP of Uttar Pradesh as the current acting DGP Rajkumar Vishwakarma (IPS:1988:UP) retires this month? According to sources, the state government will start the selection process for the next police chief of UP Police after the civil elections counting ends on May 13. It is pertinent to mention here that after the removal of DGP Mukul Goel (IPS:1987:UP) in May 2022, only caretaker DGPs have been appointed. First DS Chauhan (IPS:1987:UP) was appointed interim DGP on May 12. When Chauhan retired from the service on March 31, 2023, Vishwakarma took charge of the post.
