DGP Krishna shared with them that professional excellence, effective mechanism of public grievance redressal, and cyberpolicing skills are key to an effective policing career.

UP DGP to IPS probationers

Newly-appointed regular DGP of Uttar Pradesh, Rajeev Krishna (IPS:1991:UP), took time off to share policing mantras with 23 IPS probationers of the 2023-24 batch undergoing field training on Wednesday. Being the top-most police officer of the state, Krishna shared with them the priorities of the state police while stressing the need for maintaining professional excellence, developing an effective mechanism of public grievance redressal, and acquiring cyberpolicing skills.

The interaction took place at the police headquarters, where the trainee officers shared feedback from their ongoing 29-week district training and highlighted exposure to crime control, law and order, cyber investigations, forensic tools, traffic management, VVIP security, and implementation of new criminal laws.

DGP Krishna, while addressing the IPS probationers, said practical training is critical in preparing officers to tackle real-world policing challenges. The DGP told them that keeping ethics central to all actions, striving for professional competence, and acquiring legal knowledge and operational skills are a few factors that play a key role in effective policing.

Krishna also asked trainee officers to prepare for challenges such as the implementation of new laws and election duties.
