Virtual classes for Trainee IAS officers at LBSNAA, Mussoorie

Amid the countrywide lock down due to the coronavirus, the IAS trainees at the prestigious Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy in Mussoorie, are maintaining social distancing by attending virtual classes, and doing their own dishes.

The Director and the faculty of the academy briefed Union Minister Jitendra Singh about this during a video conference.

According to a statement issued by the Personnel Ministry, “The classes are being conducted online which are accessed by them in their respective rooms. Similarly, food is being delivered to the hostels and the utensils and room cleaning is done by the officer trainees themselves”.

The trainees have been provided with COVID-19 related inputs, through various mechanisms such as films, online discussion, assignments and structured inputs, the statement said.

Director of the LBSNAA, Sanjeev Chopra, also briefed Minister Singh, about the steps taken by the academy in the wake of corona outbreak, such as, completion of phase-I training through online mode/ assessment/reviews, IT infrastructure and up gradation for COVID 19 medical infrastructure.

The academy has also encouraged officer trainees to take up various activities and competitions through different clubs and societies.

Singh appreciated the steps of the academy, and said that such novel efforts would mitigate the corona crisis.
