Rajesh Kumar appointed Arunachal Pradesh DGP, replaces Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal

Senior IPS officer Rajesh Kumar (IPS:1995:AGMUT) has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Arunachal Pradesh.

According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday (November 3, 2026), Rajesh Kumar has been posted as DGP, Arunachal Pradesh, following his repatriation from central deputation.

He succeeds Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal (IPS:1995:AGMUT), who has been transferred from Arunachal Pradesh to Delhi. Jamwal had been serving as the DGP of Arunachal Pradesh since January 2026.
