New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of six 1995-batch IPS officers as Special Directors General in the CRPF, BSF, CISF and Intelligence Bureau (IB).
According to an order issued on Thursday (September 3, 2026), Sandeep Khirwar (IPS:1995:HY), presently Additional Director General (ADG), CRPF, has been appointed as Special Director General, CRPF, in Level-16 of the Pay Matrix. His appointment will be effective from the date of assumption of charge and will continue till his superannuation on May 31, 2033, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Similarly, Puneet Rastogi (IPS:1995:TR), ADG, BSF, has been appointed as Special Director General, BSF, in Level-16. He will hold the post from the date of assumption of charge till his superannuation on June 30, 2030, or until further orders.
Satish Shriramaji Khandare (IPS:1995:AGMUT), ADG, BSF, has also been appointed as Special Director General, BSF, in Level-16, by restoring a temporarily downgraded post of Special DG in the force. He will continue in the post till his superannuation on June 30, 2031, or until further orders.
Meanwhile, Padmakar S Ranipse (IPS:1995:OD), ADG, CISF, has been appointed as Special Director General, CISF, in Level-16, on an in-situ basis by temporarily upgrading the post held by her. She will hold the upgraded post till her superannuation on May 31, 2028, or until further orders.
Rajesh Kumar (IPS:1995:AGMUT), ADG, CRPF, has been appointed as Special Director General, CRPF, in Level-16, on an in-situ basis by temporarily upgrading the post held by him. The appointment is for a tenure of two years from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Further, Jag Mohan (IPS:1995:BH), Additional Director, Intelligence Bureau, has been appointed as Special Director, IB, in Level-16. He will hold the post from the date of assumption of charge till his superannuation on June 30, 2031, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
