Punjab: Major reshuffle in Police Administration, 30 IPS officers shifted

In a major reshuffle in the state police, the Punjab government on Saturday (12.11.2022) transferred 30 IPS officers and three officers of the state cadre.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows :

RailTel Q2 Results: Reports Consolidated Income of Rs. 440 Cr, grows 14% from first quarter

RailTel announced its consolidated income of Rs. 440 Crore in the 2nd quarter of FY 22-23 in its 136th Board Meeting held on 10.11.2022. This is a growth of 14% over consolidated income of Rs. 385 Crore for 1st quarter of FY 22-23. Consolidated income for half year ended 30/09/2022 is Rs 825 Crore as against income of Rs.696 Crore for the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

RailTel has posted a consolidated Profit before tax amounting to Rs. 74 Crore and Profit after tax of Rs. 55 Crore in 2nd quarter of FY 22-23 as compared to Rs 35 Crore PBT and Rs 26 Crore PAT in Q1 of FY 22-23. There is a growth of 111% in Profit before tax and a growth of 112% in Profit after tax in comparison to 1st quarter of FY 22-23.

Speaking about the results, Sanjai Kumar, Chairman & Managing Director, RailTel expressed happiness that RailTel has recorded growth both in income as well as profit with a growth of 14% in income in Q2 vis-vis Q1 and 112% growth in PAT in Q2 vis-àvis Q1 in FY23. I would like to thank all the stakeholders for their faith in our company.

DoPT Director Kailash Dan Ratnoo returns to parent cadre

Kailash Dan Ratnoo (IRS-IT:2004), Director, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre. According to an order issued by the DoPT, the competent authority has approved to repatriate Mr. Ratnoo to his parent cadre to avail the benefit of promotion.

NHRC JS Harish Chandra Chaudhary returns to parent cadre

Harish Chandra Chaudhary (IFoS:1992:AM), Joint Secretary, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (11.11.2022), the competent authority has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs to repatriate Mr. Chaudhary to his parent cadre on the grounds of availing benefits of promotion in the cadre.

Karnataka: Former Chief Secretary Sudhakar Rao to head 7th pay commission

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday announced the formation of the 7th Pay Commission to revise the salary of state government employees. The commission for the revision of the pay-scale of state government employees is to be chaired by former Chief Secretary Sudhakar Rao (Retd IAS:1973:KN).

Bommai had announced in March that a commission would be set up to revise the salaries of government employees. The proposed pay commission would cover the salary prospects of some six lakh employees in the poll-bound state.

Tamil Nadu: Senior IAS officer Shambhu Kallolikar seeks VRS

Senior IAS officer Shambhu Kallolikar (IAS:1991:TN), Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Women Empowerment has applied for voluntary retirement. He is likely to enter electoral politics in his home State of Karnataka, where Assembly elections are due in May next year.

As per sources, Kallolikar has been in contact with Congress leaders in Karnataka for the past few months. He is most likely to join the party after he is relieved from civil service.

Kallolikar has served in several key positions both in the Union and State governments.

In the past three years, Mr. Kallolikar would be the third IAS officer from Tamil Nadu to enter electoral politics. While his former colleague Jagmohan Singh Raju left the service and contested as a BJP candidate from Amritsar East Assembly constituency in Punjab this year, another officer Santhosh Babu quit and contested from Velachery constituency in Tamil Nadu as a candidate of Makkal Needhi Maiam.

Former A&NI Chief Secretary Jitendra Narain arrested

Former Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Jitendra Narain (IAS:1990:AGMUT) was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Andaman and Nicobar Police for his involvement in a gang rape case on Thursday. The move comes after a session court rejected his anticipatory bail plea earlier in the day. He was arrested from his home in Port Blair by the SIT which was instituted to probe the alleged gang-rape of a 21-year-old woman in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Earlier this month, the SIT grilled Narain for the third time in connection with the case. As a result of the allegations of alleged sexual assault, Narain was suspended with “immediate effect” by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on October 17.

On October 16, the MHA received a report regarding the alleged sexual assault from the Andaman and Nicobar Police. It took the action on the orders of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Sudhanshu Panday appointed as Common EC for UTs of ANI, Lakshadweep, D&NH & Daman and Diu

Former Union Secretary Sudhanshu Panday (Retd.IAS:1987:J&K) has been appointed as the common Election Commissioner for the Union territories of the Andaman and Nicolas Islands, Lakshadweep and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. Until his retirement on 31.09.2022, he served as Secretary for the Department of Food & Public Distribution.
