Ganji Kamala V Rao (IAS:1990:KL), Managing Director of India Tourism Development Corporation Ltd (ITDC), has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), on Monday (26.12.2022), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Mr. Ganji Kamala to the post under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.
Kerala: 21 IPS officers shifted, Thummala Vikram posted as ADG, Cyber Operation
The Kerala government on Friday (23.12.2022) issued transfer and posting orders for 21 IPS officers across the state.

Haryana: Three IAS/IFS officers transferred
The Haryana government on Saturday (24.12.2022) issued transfer and posting orders for three IAS/IFS officers.
The names of the officers and their postings are as follows :
- Shekhar Vidyarthi (IAS:2004:HY), Director General/Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department and DG, MSME has been given additional charge of Secretary to Governor, Haryana.

Assam govt restores special allowance for AIS officers
Even though the Centre has discontinued the special allowance of 25% of the basic pay given to All India Service (AIS) officers posted in Northeastern states, Assam’s government announced on Friday that AIS officers serving in Assam as part of the Joint Cadre of Assam and Meghalaya will be granted a special allowance/incentive of 20% of their basic pay as a relief.

The decision was made at a meeting of the state cabinet on October 7 this year.
The incentive/special allowance will be granted retrospectively from September 23 this year. The 20 percent special allowance will be reimbursed from the State’s Consolidated Fund.
On September 24 this year, the Central Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) had issued a letter to announce that special incentives and allowances granted to AIS officers posted in the Northeastern states had been withdrawn with immediate effect. The letter was addressed to all the chief secretaries of various states. Moreover, the letter stated that the post-retirement housing facility for officers belonging to the north-east cadres would be withdrawn.

The additional monetary allowance of 25 percent of basic pay was introduced in 2009. AIS officers comprise the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Forest Service (IFS).
To encourage North-East postings, DoPT earlier awarded special allowances and other incentives to officers belonging to the Assam-Meghalaya joint cadre, Sikkim, Nagaland, Tripura and Manipur cadres.

Vivek Aggarwal gets addl. charge of Director- FIU-IND
Vivek Aggarwal (IAS:1994:MP), Additional Secretary, Department of Revenue has been given additional charge of the post of Director, Finance Intelligence Unit India (FIU-IND) for a period of three months. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (23.12.2022), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the proposal of the Department of Revenue for entrustment of additional charge of the post to Mr. Aggarwal for a period of three months from the date of assumption of charge by the officer until a rgular incumbent is appointed or until further order, whichever is earlier.
V R Akkaraju gets addl. charge of Chairperson of Mormugao Port Trust
V R Akkaraju, Chairperson, New Mangalore Port Trust, has been given additional charge of the post of Chairperson (JS level), Mormugao Port Trust for a period of three months. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (23.12.2022), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways for entrustment of additional charge of the post to Mr. Akkaraju for a period of three months with effect from 03.12.2022 or till the appointment of a new incumbent or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.
