IAS Laya Madduri appointed Director in Department of Economic Affairs

IAS officer Laya Madduri (IAS:2010:AM) has been appointed as Director in the Department of Economic Affairs, Delhi, for five years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (20.03.2025), the competent authority has approved the appointment of Ms. Madduri to the post under the central staffing scheme for a period of five years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

IAS Smitha Mol MS appointed Deputy Secretary in M/o Civil Aviation

Smitha Mol MS (IAS:2013:TR) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Delhi, for four years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (20.03.2025), the competent authority has approved the appointment of Ms. Smitha to the post under the central staffing scheme for a period of four years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

IPS Aditya Pratap Singh appointed as Director in M/o New & Renewable Energy

IPS officer Aditya Pratap Singh (IPS:2011:MP), who was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Delhi, for five years.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (20.03.2025), Mr. Singh will serve in the post under the central staffing scheme for a period of five years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

RBI appoints Indranil Bhattacharyya as new ED

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Thursday (20.03.2025) appointed Indranil Bhattacharyya as Executive Director (ED). He will oversee the Department of Economic and Policy Research. His appointment is effective from March 19.

Prior to his promotion as ED, Bhattacharyya was serving as Adviser in the Monetary Policy Department of the RBI. He has nearly three decades of experience in monetary policy, fiscal policy, banking, and international economic relations.

Recently, on March 5, the RBI appointed Dr. Ajit Ratnakar Jha as ED to oversee the Department of Statistics and Information Management (DSIM) and the Financial Stability Department. Before his promotion, Dr. Jha served as the Principal Adviser in the DSIM.

UP: IAS officer Abhishek Prakash suspended

UP IAS Abhishek Prakash reinstated

Abhishek Prakash (IAS:2006:UP), currently serving as Secretary, UPIDC Department and CEO, Invest UP, has been suspended by the Uttar Pradesh government over corruption allegations.

Prakash is accused of demanding a commission from an entrepreneur establishing a solar industry in exchange for facilitating the project. The entrepreneur reported the matter to the police, leading to its transfer to the Special Task Force (STF) for investigation. Following the STF’s report, the government took the decision to suspend the officer.

Reports suggest that Prakash had engaged a middleman to solicit the bribe. The police have since arrested the middleman, who confessed to acting on Prakash’s instructions.

This is not the first controversy involving Prakash. He has previously faced corruption allegations in the Lucknow Defense Expo land scam and for issuing compensation using fake documents.

Shobhit Gupta gets extension as Joint Secretary in M/o Civil Aviation

The central deputation tenure of Shobhit Gupta (IRSEE:2000) as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, has been extended for a period of two years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (19.03.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of Ministry of Civil Aviation to extend the deputation tenure of Mr. Gupta for a period two years beyond March 1, 2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The central deputation tenure of Sandhya Bhullar (IAS:2003:GJ) as Joint Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT), has been extended for a period of two years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (19.03.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of DPIIT to extend the deputation tenure of Ms. Bhullar for a period two years beyond February 23, 2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Dharmendra Kumar Singh gets extension as JS in D/o Defence

The central deputation tenure of Dharmendra Kumar Singh (IA&AS:2000) as Joint Secretary in the Department of Defence has been extended. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (19.03.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of Department of Defence to extend the deputation tenure of Mr. Singh for a period beyond February 20, 2025 till September 30, 2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

IAS Madhu Rani Teotia repatriated to parent cadre AGMUT

Madhu Rani Teotia (IAS:2008:AGMUT), currently serving as Additional CEO (JS level) at the National Health Authority (NHA), has been prematurely repatriated to her parent cadre (AGMUT). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved her repatriation, as per an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday.

Teotia was recently appointed as Secretary to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on February 27. With her repatriation, she is expected to assume her new role in the Delhi government soon.

Anuradha Thakur gets extension as Additional Secretary, M/o Corporate Affairs

Anuradha Thakur (IAS:1994:HP) will continue as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs for another year, as her central deputation tenure has been extended.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (19.03.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved to extend the deputation tenure of Ms. Thakur for a period of one year beyond March 24, 2025 i.e. upto March 24, 2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Thakur has been serving as Additional Secretary in the ministry since January 2022.
