Dr. N Kalaiselvi, Director General, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)-cum-Secretary, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), has been entrusted with the additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (May 29, 2026), the competent authority has approved the arrangement upon the superannuation of Dr M Ravichandran on May 31, 2026.
The order stated that Kalaiselvi will hold the additional charge until the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Dr M Ravichandran has been serving as Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences since October 2021 and is set to retire on May 31, 2026.
