Dr N Kalaiselvi will continue as Director General of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)-cum-Secretary, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) till her superannuation.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (July 1, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension of her tenure beyond August 7, 2026, till February 28, 2027, the date of her superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Kalaiselvi assumed charge as Director General, CSIR-cum-Secretary, DSIR on August 7, 2022, for an initial tenure of two years. Before the completion of her original term, the Centre extended her tenure by another two years, up to August 7, 2026.
With the latest decision, she will now continue in the post until February 28, 2027, when she is due to retire.
