The Chandigarh administration has recommended the name of senior IAS officer Vinay Pratap Singh (IAS:2011:HY) for the post of new Chandigarh deputy commissioner, to the Centre. Presently, he is posted as Panchkula deputy commissioner.
According to the UT administration, the name of Singh is sent to the Centre in consultation with Punjab governor-cum-UT administrator V P Singh Badnore.
The tenure of DC Chandigarh Mandip Singh Brar (IAS:2005:HY) is likely to end on October 30.
Earlier, the Haryana government had sent a panel of three IAS officers for the post of deputy commissioner, to the UT administration. The post is reserved for a Haryana-cadre IAS officer.
