Senior IPS officer Utkal Ranjan Sahu (IPS: 1988: RJ), who previously served as the acting Director General of Police (DGP) in Rajasthan, has now been officially appointed as the full-time DGP of the state. This appointment follows the recommendation of the Union Public Service Commission(UPSC).
According to the order issued by the state government’s personnel department, Sahu will hold the position of Director General of Police (Chief of Police Force) in Rajasthan for a period of two years or until further directives are issued.
Utkal Ranjan Sahu took on the additional responsibility of DGP after the voluntary retirement of Umesh Mishra on December 29.
