New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension in temporary upgradation of six key government posts, including those in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Ministry of Finance, Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Election Commission of India, and Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (July 27, 2026), the following extensions have been approved:
- The temporary upgradation of the post of Secretary, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) from the level of Additional Secretary to Secretary, presently held by Shashi Ranjan Kumar (IAS:1992:TR), has been extended up to September 3, 2027.
- The temporary upgradation of the post of Joint Secretary & Financial Adviser to the level of Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser in the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, presently held by Manoj Sahaya (IA&AS:1994), has been extended up to January 29, 2027.
- The temporary upgradation of the post of Joint Secretary to the level of Additional Secretary in the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, presently held by Parama Sen (IA&AS:1994), has been extended up to August 2, 2027.
- The temporary upgradation of the post of Joint Secretary to the level of Additional Secretary in the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, presently held by Varsha Joshi (IAS:1995:AGMUT), has been extended up to December 5, 2026.
- The temporary upgradation of the post of Deputy Election Commissioner in the Election Commission of India from the level of Joint Secretary to Additional Secretary, presently held by Maneesh Garg (IAS:1996:HP), has been extended up to September 1, 2027.
- The temporary upgradation of the post of Joint Secretary to the level of Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), presently held by Amitesh Kumar Sinha (IRAS:1997), has been extended up to August 9, 2027.
