Ajit Kumar’s additional charge as MyGov CEO extended by six months

Ajit Kumar will continue as CEO, MyGov, with his additional charge extended for six months from June 24, 2026.

New Delhi: IAS officer Ajit Kumar (IAS:2006:KL), Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, will continue to hold the additional charge of CEO, MyGov for another six months.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (August 20, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal for extension of entrustment of additional charge to him for a period of six months with effect from June 24, 2026 or till appointment of regular incumbent, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Kumar was given the additional charge of MyGov CEO on November 24, 2025, for six months. His initial tenure was due to end on May 24, 2026, but no regular appointment was made by then. He has therefore continued in the role, and the latest order formally extends the arrangement.
