Pooja Hali re-designated as Director in NGMA

Pooja Hali (IRS-IT: 2011), currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) under Ministry of Culture, has been re-designated as Director. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (28.02.2025), the competent authority has approved the proposal to re-designate Ms. Hali ’s post to Director level with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the re-designated post, and for a period up to June 9, 2029, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

It is noteworthy that Pooja Hali began her central deputation tenure on June 10, 2024.

Nazeem Ahmed re-designated as Director in M/o Minority Affairs

Nazeem Ahmed (IOFS:2011), currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs, has been re-designated as Director. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (28.02.2025), the competent authority has approved the proposal to re-designate Mr. Ahmed ’s post to Director level with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the re-designated post, and for a period up to December 21, 2028, i.e. total tenure of five years, under the central staffing scheme.

It is noteworthy that Nazeem Ahmed began his central deputation tenure on December 22, 2023.

Piyush Ranjan appointed CVO of Engineering Project India Limited

Piyush Ranjan (IDSE:2002) has been appointed as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Engineering Project India Limited (EPIL), Nagpur. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (27.02.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Mr. Ranjan for a period upto June 14, 2027 (i.e. combined deputation tenure of 7 years in CSS and Non-CSS posts put together), from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Bhagwandas Gajghate appointed CVO of MOIL

Bhagwandas Gajghate (IOFS:2008) has been appointed as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Manganese Ore India Limited (MOIL), Nagpur. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (27.02.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Mr. Gajghate for a period upto March 22, 2027 (i.e. combined deputation tenure of 7 years in CSS and Non-CSS posts put together), from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

MOIL is a Schedule “A” Miniratna Category-I company under the Ministry of Steel.

Gavali Parag Harshad appointed Deputy Secretary in MoHUA

Gavali Parag Harshad (IAS:2013:OD), currently serving as Private Secretary to the Minister for Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA). Consequently, his tenure as Private Secretary has been curtailed for his new assignment.

According to order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (28.02.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Mr. Harshad to the post for a period of July 11, 2029 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Harshad was appointed as Private Secretary to Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram on July 4, 2024.

SC collegium recommends five Advocates as Judges of Calcutta HC

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the elevation of five Advocates as Judges of the Calcutta High Court. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Collegium held on February 25, 2025.

The names of the Advocates are;

  2. Reetobroto Kumar Mitra
  3. Md. Talay Masood Siddiqui
  4. Krishnaraj Thaker
  5. Om Narayan Rai

Gaurav Sharma gets extension as FA&CAO in CAT Delhi

The central deputation tenure of Gaurav Sharma (CWES:2008) as Financial Adviser & Chief Accounts Officer (FA&CAO) in Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Principal Bench, New Delhi, has been extended for one year. According to order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (27.02.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal to extend the deputation tenure of Mr. Sharma for a further period of one year from 01.03.2025 and up to 28.02.2026 (i.e. a total tenure of 7 years outside the cadre at stretch).

Ankita Chakravarty appointed Dy Secretary in D/o Drinking Water & Sanitation

Ankita Chakravarty (IAS:2013:AGMUT), currently serving as Private Secretary to Annpurna Devi, Minister for Women & Child Development, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation on lateral shift basis. Consequently, her tenure as Private Secretary has been prematurely curtailed.

According to order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (27.02.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Ms Chakravarty to the post of Deputy Secretary on lateral shift basis with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post for a period upto 30.11.2027 (i.e. for the balance period of her four years central deputation tenure at Deputy Secretary level under the central staffing scheme) or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Dr. Shalia Shah gets extension as Deputy Secretary in D/o Higher Education

The central deputation tenure of Dr. Shalia Shah (IFS:2012) as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Higher Education has been extended for two years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (27.02.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the D/o Higher Education to extend the deputation tenure of Ms. Shah for a period of two years beyond 01.03.2025 and upto 01.03.2027 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Shalia Shah began her central deputation tenure on March 2, 2022.

Vinay Kaushal’s tenure as PS to Ahwini Vaishanav curtailed

The tenure of Vinay Kaushal (IRS-IT:2011) as Private Secretary to Ahwini Vaishanav, Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting and Electronics & Information Technology, has been curtailed. He was serving in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (27.02.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal to curtail the tenure of Mr. Kaushal.

Notably, he was recently appointed as Additional Director in the Enforcement Directorate, along with other five officers.
