In a major development for the Rajasthan bureaucracy, the state government has issued show-cause notices to senior IAS officer Shikhar Agrawal (IAS:1993:RJ) and his IPS officer wife Prashakha Mathur (IPS:1995:RJ) following allegations of illegal acquisition of properties on a large scale by them. They have been asked to furnish clarification within seven days.
Both of them were recently put on Awaiting Posting Order (APO) ostensibly for “administrative reasons.”
The notices were issued by the state govt’s Department of Personnel on October 30.
The notice says that in the immovable property statements submitted online by them since 2021, no immovable property was declared. But, as per notice, various communications were submitted to the state government highlighting transactions of immovable properties by them, which took place after 2021.
According to government sources, Agrawal has been asked to provide “a comprehensive clarification” regarding the details published in the newspapers.
