Bihar govt transfers 10 IAS officers; Kundan Kumar is new Home Secretary

The Bihar government on Friday (May 22, 2026) issued transfer and posting orders for 10 IAS officers in a significant administrative reshuffle, bringing important changes in the state’s bureaucratic set-up. Among the key changes, senior IAS officer Deepak Kumar has been appointed Principal Secretary to the Governor, Arvind Kumar Chaudhary has been shifted from the Home Department, while Kundan Kumar has been assigned additional charge of Secretary, Home Department.

Deepak Kumar (IAS:1992:BH), DG-cum-Chief Enquiry Commissioner, General Administration Department (GAD), has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary to the Governor with additional charge of DG-cum-Chief Enquiry Commissioner, GAD.

Arvind Kumar Chaudhary (IAS:1995:BH), Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, with multiple additional responsibilities, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat with additional charge of Examination Controller, Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board.

Dr B Rajender (IAS:1995:BH), Additional Chief Secretary, GAD, has been given additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Vigilance Department.

Kundan Kumar (IAS:2004:BH), Secretary, Industries Department, has been given additional charge of Secretary, Home Department.

Sanjay Kumar Singh (IAS:2007:BH), Secretary, Finance Department and Secretary to the Chief Minister’s Office, has been relieved of the charge of Enquiry Commissioner, GAD.

Seema Tripathi (IAS:2009:BH), Secretary, Bihar Human Rights Commission, Patna, has been given additional charge of Secretary, Revenue & Land Reforms Department.

Nilesh Ramchandra Deore (IAS:2011:BH), Special Secretary, Civil Aviation Department, has been given additional charge of Managing Director, Bihar State Housing Board.

Inayat Khan (IAS:2012:BH), Managing Director, Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, has been assigned additional charge of Special Secretary, Revenue & Land Reforms Department.

Arvind Kumar Verma (IAS:2012:BH), Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat Department, has been given additional charge of Special Secretary, Industries Department.

Rajiv Kumar Srivastava (IAS:2013:BH), Managing Director, Bihar State Housing Board, has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary, Finance Department.
