New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Pravin Kumar, General Manager (2nd Lead – Finance, Costing, Funds Management and Real Estate Management), SAIL ERP Centre, Corporate Office, Bhilai Location, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), for appointment as Director (Finance), SAIL.
The recommendation was made at the PESB selection meeting held on September 21, 2026. Pravin Kumar’s name will now be forwarded to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for approval.
Currently, SAIL CMD Ashok Kumar Panda is holding the additional charge of Director (Finance). Panda had been serving as Director (Finance) since May 2025 before being appointed CMD of SAIL. He assumed charge as CMD on May 9, 2026, and has continued to hold the additional charge of Director (Finance).
A total of 10 candidates appeared before the PESB selection panel for the post. They were:
- Arup Mukherjee – Executive Director (Internal Audit), Corporate Office, SAIL
- Prajesh Chandra Mishra – Chief General Manager (F&A), SRU, SAIL
- Pramod Kumar Chokhani – Chief General Manager (Internal Audit), Bhilai Steel Plant, SAIL
- Sudershan Kalra – Chief General Manager (Finance), SAIL
- Varadarajan Iyengar – Chief General Manager, SAIL
- Hafik Kumar Say – Chief General Manager (Internal Audit), SAIL
- Vikas Shounak – General Manager (F&A), SAIL
- Pravin Kumar – General Manager (2nd Lead – Finance, Costing, Funds Management and Real Estate Management), SAIL ERP Centre, Corporate Office, Bhilai Location, SAIL
- Sunil Kumar Goel – Executive Director (Finance), Indian Railway Finance Corporation Limited (IRFC)
- Shubhadeep Sen – General Manager (F&A) and Chief Financial Officer, Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL)
