Patna: In a series of significant bureaucratic changes, the Bihar government issued three separate orders between August 22 and August 29, 2026, involving the transfer, posting and fresh field assignments of 32 IAS officers.
The changes included the transfer and posting of officers in key departments and district-level positions, besides the posting of 2024-batch IAS officers as Sub-Divisional Officers following the completion of their Phase-II Professional Training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie.
Major Reshuffle on August 22
In the first major order issued on August 22, Shreya Sri (IAS:2022:BH), who was awaiting posting orders, was posted as DDC-cum-CEO, Zila Parishad, Khagaria.
Several 2023-batch IAS officers were also transferred and given new assignments.
Garima Lohiya (IAS:2023:BH), SDO, Badh, Patna, was transferred and posted as Municipal Commissioner, Darbhanga Municipal Corporation.
Anirudh Pandey (IAS:2023:BH), SDO, Danapur, Patna, was transferred and posted as Municipal Commissioner, Purnea Municipal Corporation.
Tushar Kumar (IAS:2023:BH), SDO, Purnea, was transferred and posted as DDC-cum-CEO, Zila Parishad, Madhubani.
Pradhumn Singh Yadav (IAS:2023:BH), SDO, Katihar, was transferred and posted as Director, Food Processing Directorate, Department of Industries, Patna.
Akanksha Anand (IAS:2023:BH), SDO, Muzaffarpur (East), was transferred and posted as DDC-cum-CEO, Zila Parishad, Sasaram, Rohtas, Chapra.
Anjali Sharma (IAS:2023:BH), SDO, Areraj, East Champaran, Motihari, was transferred and posted as Director, Persons with Disabilities and Social Welfare Department, Patna.
Rohit Kumar (IAS:2023:BH), SDO, Naugachia, Bhagalpur, was transferred and posted as DDC-cum-CEO, Zila Parishad, Kaimur, Bhabua.
Shipra Vijay Kumar Chaudhary (IAS:2023:BH), SDO, Ara Sadar, was transferred and posted as DDC-cum-CEO, Zila Parishad, Jamui.
Neha Kumari (IAS:2023:BH), SDO, Sasaram, Rohtas, was transferred and posted as DDC-cum-CEO, Zila Parishad, Katihar.
Krishna Chandra Gupta (IAS:2023:BH), SDO, Kahalgaon, Bhagalpur, was transferred and posted as Inspector General of Registration, Prohibition, Excise & Registration Department, Patna.
The same order also provided the first field postings to 12 IAS officers of the 2024 batch after the completion of their Phase-II Professional Training at LBSNAA, Mussoorie.
Virupaksh Vikram Singh (IAS:2024:BH) was posted as SDO, Danapur, Patna, while Priya Rani (IAS:2024:BH) was posted as SDO, Sasaram, Rohtas.
Krishna Joshi (IAS:2024:BH) was posted as SDO, Barh, Patna, while Prem Kumar (IAS:2024:BH) was posted as SDO, Haveli Kharagpur, Munger.
Syed Adeel Mohsin (IAS:2024:BH) was posted as SDO, Marhaura, until further orders.
Ajay Yadav (IAS:2024:BH) was posted as SDO, Ballia, Begusarai, while Suraj Kumar (IAS:2024:BH) was posted as SDO, Kathihar.
Dinesh T P (IAS:2024:BH) was posted as SDO, Purnea, while Jatin Kumar (IAS:2024:BH) was posted as SDO, Sherghati, Gaya.
K Parikshit (IAS:2024:BH) was posted as SDO, Naugachhia, Bhagalpur, until further orders.
Mahesh Kumar (IAS:2024:BH) was posted as SDO, Tarapur, Munger, until further orders, while Kashish Bakshi (IAS:2024:BH) was posted as SDO, Patna City.
Six IAS Officers Get New Assignments on August 28
In another order issued on August 28, Ujjwal Kumar Singh (IAS:2011), Director, Animal Husbandry, was transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Rural Development Department.
Srikant Shastri (IAS:2012), who was awaiting posting orders, was posted as Director, Animal Husbandry.
Vivek Ranjan Maitrey (IAS:2017), also awaiting posting orders, was posted as Additional Secretary, Information & Public Relations Department.
Nitin Kumar Singh (IAS:2018), who was awaiting posting orders, was posted as Director, Secondary Education.
Neelima Sahu (IAS:2021), DDC-cum-CEO, Zila Parishad, Nawada, was transferred and posted as Joint Secretary, Health Department.
Divya Shakti (IAS:2022) was posted as Commissioner, Excise, Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department.
Three More Officers Shifted on August 29
The Bihar government issued another order on August 29, transferring and posting three more IAS officers.
Sunil Kumar (IAS:2014), Managing Director, Bihar State Food & Civil Supplies Corporation, was transferred and posted as Director, Audit, Finance Department.
Anjani Kumar (IAS:2016), DDC-cum-CEO, Zila Parishad, Purnea, was transferred and posted as Commissioner, VB-G RAM G, Rural Development Department.
Abhay Jha (IAS:2017), Additional Secretary, Rural Development Department, who was also holding the additional charge of Additional Secretary, Food & Consumer Protection Department, was transferred and posted as Bihar State Food & Civil Supplies Corporation, Patna.
The three orders, issued within a span of eight days, have resulted in a significant reorganisation of the administrative setup, particularly at the district and sub-divisional levels, while also filling several key positions in the state government departments.
