Patna: The Bihar government on Friday (September 4, 2026) issued transfer and posting orders for six IAS officers. Though the reshuffle appears to be a minor one in the state’s bureaucratic setup, it brings significant changes in the Department of Information & Public Relations.
IAS officer Vivek Ranjan Maitrey (IAS:2017:BH), Additional Secretary, Information & Public Relations Department, has been transferred out of the department and posted as Director, Sports.
Similarly, Anil Kumar (IAS:2017:BH), Director, Information & Public Relations, has been transferred and posted as Managing Director, Bihar State Building Construction Corporation Limited, Patna.
Meanwhile, Abhishek Palasia (IAS:2020:BH) has been brought into the Information & Public Relations Department as Joint Secretary in additional capacity. He will continue as Managing Director, Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited.
Similarly, Gunjan Singh (IAS:2020:BH) has been given additional charge of Director, Information & Public Relations, along with the additional charge of Managing Director, Bihar State Dialogue Committee.

- Naveen Kumar (IAS:2011:BH), Special Secretary, Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department, with additional charges of In-charge Secretary, Information & Public Relations and MD, State Beverages Corporation Limited, Patna, has been given additional charge of MD, Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA).
- Vivek Ranjan Maitrey (IAS:2017:BH), Additional Secretary, Information & Public Relations Department, has been transferred and posted as Director, Sports.
- Anil Kumar (IAS:2017:BH), Director, Information & Public Relations, with additional charge of MD, Bihar State Dialogue Committee, Patna, has been transferred and posted as MD, Bihar State Building Construction Corporation Limited, Patna.
- Abhishek Palasia (IAS:2020:BH), Joint Secretary, Road Construction Department, Patna, has been transferred and posted as MD, Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, with additional charge of Joint Secretary, Information & Public Relations Department.
- Srikant Kundalik Khandekar (IAS:2020:BH), Joint Secretary, CMO, has been given additional charge of Joint Secretary, Industries.
- Gunjan Singh (IAS:2020:BH), Joint Secretary, CMO, has been given additional charge of Director, Information & Public Relations and MD, Bihar State Dialogue Committee.
