The President of India Droupadi Murmu has accepted the resignation of IPS officer Shivdeep Waman Rao Lande (IPS:2006:BH), who is currently posted as Inspector General (IG) of Police Training Centre in Patna. A notification in this regard was issued by Rashtrapati Bhawan on Wednesday. Lande had submitted his resignation on September 19, 2024, citing personal reasons.

Sources in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat revealed that the delay in the resignation process was due to its initial rejection, as Lande’s file moved through various departments at Patel Bhawan.

Lande served in key roles during his career, including as Superintendent of Police in Patna, Araria, Purnia, and Munger. Known for his dynamic policing and popularity among the public, his decision to resign has stirred considerable interest.

With state elections approaching later this year, speculation is rife about Lande’s next move. Reports suggest he may join the Jan Suraj Party led by Prashant Kishor, fueling discussions about his potential entry into politics.
