The Central government on Thursday approved the appointment of Arun Kumar Mehta (IAS:1988:AGMUT) as the new Chief Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir following appointment of incumbent Chief Secretary, BVR Subrahmanyam (IAS:1987:CG) as OSD and Secretary in the Commerce Department at the Centre.
Mehta, presently serving as Finance Commissioner, will take over as Chief Secretary, J-K from the date that B.V.R. Subrahmanyam relinquishes the charge.
