SC Collegium recommends new Chief Justices for three High Courts

The Supreme Court collegium on Thursday (02.11.2023) recommended the appointment of Chief Justices of three high courts- Meghalaya, Orissa and Uttarakhand.

The Supreme Court collegium on Thursday (02.11.2023) recommended the appointment of Chief Justices of three high courts- Meghalaya, Orissa and Uttarakhand.

They are;

  1. Justice Ritu Bahri, senior puisne judge of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana, as Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court.
  2. Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh, senior puisne judge in the Patna High Court, as Chief Justice of the High Court of Orissa.
  3. Justice S. Vaidyanathan, senior puisne judge in Madras High Court, as Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court.

The Collegium has largely followed the norms of merit, seniority, and integrity of the judges in its recommendations.
