New Delhi: Sanap Bajirao Ramnath (IP&TA&FS:2011) has been granted a two-year extension in his central deputation tenure as Director in the Ministry of Defence.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (July 13, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Defence to extend his deputation tenure for two years beyond September 22, 2026, i.e. up to September 22, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Notably, Ramnath has been on central deputation since September 22, 2021, when he was appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the then MSME Minister Narayan Tatu Rane for a period of four years.
In August 2024, after the formation of the third term of the Modi government, he joined the Department of Defence as Deputy Secretary (IAF) in the Ministry of Defence. Subsequently, in January 2025, he was re-designated as Director, and his tenure in the new post was fixed till September 22, 2026.
With the latest order, his deputation tenure as Director in the Ministry of Defence has now been extended by two years, till September 22, 2028.
