The Odisha government on Monday (15.07.2024) revoked the suspension of senior IPS officer DS Kutey (IPS:1997:OD) and appointed him as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Home Department.
This decision follows the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) directive to suspend him for interfering in the conduct of elections on May 20, 2024, when he was serving as Special Secretary to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. During his suspension, Kutey’s headquarters were fixed at the Office of the Resident Commissioner, Odisha, New Delhi.
The state government also transferred and posted Ravi Kant (IAS:1998:OD), Resident Commissioner of Odisha Bhawan in New Delhi, as Officer on Special Duty, Home Department.
