Swati Y Mhase Patil (IAS-SCS:2008:MH) on Tuesday appointed as Principal Secretary, Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) in place of Pradeep Kumar (IFS:1987:MH), who has proceeded on a long leave. Prior to this assignment, she was working as Joint Secretary, directorate of information technology, GAD.
Last week, some cabinet members, led by the CM, had demanded action against Kumar and MPSC official for approaching the SC, without the state’s knowledge, over the Maratha quota issue. Kumar said he had sought advice from the state, but there was no response.
