Karnataka’s Director General of Police (DGP) for the Internal Security Division, C H Pratap Reddy (IPS:1991:KN), has submitted a request for voluntary retirement from service. Anticipating retirement in June 2024, Reddy has expressed his preference to be relieved by the end of April. In compliance with regulations, Reddy applied for Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) in January 2024, following the stipulated “three-month notice in writing to the appointing authority before the date of retirement.”

Formerly serving as the police commissioner of Bengaluru city, Reddy took on the role of DGP, Internal Security Division. With a diverse career, he has previously worked with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and received accolades such as the Chief Minister’s Medal for Meritorious Service and the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service. Reddy has held significant ranks within the state, contributing to law enforcement and internal security.
