Gurkaran Singh Bains (IRS-C&IT:2006) has been given a long-term foreign assignment as Director of Customs in the Customs Department of the Mauritius Revenue Authority, Port Louis, Mauritius for a period of three years.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (June 23, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance for Bains to take up the foreign assignment.
He will serve on a three-year fixed-term performance contract basis from the date of taking over charge of the assignment or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
