Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal administered the oath to former Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Dev (Retd.IAS:1987:AGMUT) as the new State Election Commissioner of Delhi on Thursday (21.04.2022). He will hold office for a term of six years from the date of assumption of charge or till he attains the age of 65 years.
Dev’s appointment comes in the wake of SK Srivastava’s (Retd.IAS:1980:AGMUT) retirement from the post of State Election Commissioner.
Dev, who retired from the post of Delhi Chief Secretary on Tuesday, had taken voluntary retirement about a year before his superannuation in March 2023 and has now joined as State Election Commissioner of Delhi and Chandigarh.
