New Delhi: West Bengal cadre IAS officer Rajarshi Mitra (IAS:2012:WB) has been appointed Director of Census Operations/Director of Citizen Registration (DCO/DCR), West Bengal, at the Director level for three years.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (October 19, 2026), the competent authority has approved his appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme with effect from the date he assumes charge of the post, for three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Prior to this appointment, Rajarshi Mitra was serving as Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission, and Senior Special Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department, West Bengal.
