Acting on complaints from the Congress and the Shiv Sena (UBT), the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday ordered the immediate transfer of Maharashtra DGP Rashmi Shukla (IPS:1988:MH). The ECI has directed the Chief Secretary of state to hand over her charge to the next senior-most IPS officer in the cadre. Additionally, the Chief Secretary has been directed to submit a panel of three IPS officers by 1 pm on 5th November 2024, for the appointment of a new DGP for Maharashtra.
