Who will be the next Director of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) at Hyderabad as incumbent A S Rajan (IPS:1987:BH) is set to retire from service on February 28, 2023? Speculation about Ranjan’s replacement is buzzing on Power Corridor and one name that keeps cropping up is Manoj Yadav (IPS:1988:HY). Will it be true or will the current political dispensation once again prove every speculation wrong?

Presently, Mr. Yadav is serving as Director General (Investigation) of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).

AP: Anil Kumar Singhal appointed Principal Secretary to Governor

Senior IAS officer and former chief executive officer of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Anil Kumar Singhal (IAS:1993:AP) has taken appointed as Principal Secretary to Governor of Andhra Pradesh Biswabhusan Harichandan.

He took charge from Special Chief Secretary R P Sisodia (IAS:1991:AP) on Saturday. Mr. Singhal had twice served as the executive officer of the TTD in the past. During his first stint as TTD EO between May 2017 till October 2020, Anil Singhal is credited with bringing in transparency at all levels of administration with the TTD, the richest Hindu temples trust in the world.

Singhal was once again appointed as the executive officer (Full additional charge) by the state government of Andhra Pradesh for 12 days between December 22, 2022, till January 2nd, 2023, for a brief period during the absence of the present TTD EO AV Dharma Reddy.

Indian Railways earns Rs 1.35 lakh crore from freight loading in first 10 months of FY 2022-23

Indian Railways’ freight loading for the first ten months of this financial year 2022-23 crossed last year’s loading and earnings for the same period. Cumulatively, from April-January 23, 1243.46 MT of freight was loaded, compared with 1159.08 MT loaded last year, an improvement of 7%. The railways earned Rs 135387 crore compared to Rs 117212 crore during the same period last year, an increase of 16%.

Originating freight loading was 134.07 MT in January’23, compared to 129.12 MT in January’22, which is an improvement of 4 %. Freight revenue of Rs. 14907 crores have been achieved against Rs 13172 crores in January’22, thereby an improvement of 13% over last year.

The railway has made sustained efforts with the mantra ‘Hungry For Cargo’ to improve the ease of doing business as well as improve service delivery at competitive prices.

Barnali Barua Tokhi appointed as MD, BPRL

Barnali Barua Tokhi has been appointed to the post of Managing Director (MD), Bharat Petro Resources Limited (BPRL). According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas to appoint Ms. Tokhi to the post with effect from the date of her assumption of charge of the post till the date of her superannuation i.e. 31.08.2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Pankaj Upadhyay appointed as Deputy Secretary, Department of Bio-Technology

Pankaj Upadhyay (IDAS:2010), who was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Defence, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Bio-Technology, Delhi for a period of four years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the central government appointed Mr. Upadhyay to the post under the central staffing scheme for a period of four years from the date of taking over the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Uttar Pradesh: 13 IPS officers shifted

The Uttar Pradesh government on Friday (03.02.2023) issued transfer and posting orders for 11 IPS officers across the state.

The Tamil Nadu government has issued transfer and posting orders for three IAS officers

Assam: Ashok Kumar Barman re-engaged as Spl Secretary

Ashok Kumar Barman (IAS-SCS:2010:AM), has been re-engaged as Special Secretary with full Administrative and Financial Power in the Implementation of Assam Accord Department. He is also posted as Secretary, Revenue & DM Department and Member Secretary to the Commission for Review & Assessment of Problems of Satra Lands in Assam (CRAPSLA).

WB: Three IAS officers shifted

The West Bengal government has issued transfer and posting orders for three IAS officers
