2 IPS officers appointed as DIG in CRPF

Central Reserve Police Force

The Union Home Ministry on Thursday (09.02.2023) announced the appointment of two IPS officers as DIG in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) for a period of five years.

Their names are as follows :

  1. Rafiul Alam Laskar (IPS:2006:AM)
  2. N V Chandrakant (IPS:2009:AM)

4 IPS officers promoted to DIG rank in NIA

Four IPS officers who work as Superintendents of Police at the National Investigation Agency (NIA) have been promoted to DIG. Their appointment has been approved by the competent authority for a combined tenure of 5 years (SP+DIG) from the date of their joining, or until further orders.

They are;

  1. Dr. Shailendra Kumar Mishra (IPS:2009:AGMUT)
  2. Dharamranjan G (IPS:2009:TN)
  3. Vijayanta (IPS:2009:AGMUT)
  4. Ved Prakash Surya (IPS:2009:AGMUT)

33 IPS officers empanelled as ADG/ADG equivalent posts in GoI

The Modi government on Friday (10.02.2023) cleared the empanelment of 33 IPS officers (1992 and 1994 batch) to hold Additional Director General/ Additional Director General equivalent posts at the Centre.

Minisry of Home Affairs

The Ministry of Home Affairs has enacted a minor reshuffle in AGMUT Cadre IAS officers with immediate effect.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows :

  1. A Anbarasu (IAS:1996:AGMUT) has been transferred from the post of Advisor to Administrator, Lakshadweep to Delhi.
  2. Sandeep Kumar (IAS:1996:AGMUT) has been transferred from Arunachal Pradesh and has been appointed as Advisor to Administrator, Lakshadweep.

MIB: 10 IIS officers assigned new responsibilities

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Thursday (09.02.2023) issued transfer and posting orders for 10 IIS officers. Seven of them have been given postings after their promotion to SAG. They are;

  1. Ajay Agrawal has been posted as ADG, CBC, New Delhi.
  2. Santosh Kumar has been posted as ADG (M&C), PIB, New Delhi.
  3. Shruti Patil has been posted as ADG (M&C), PIB, Hyderabad with additional charge of PIB, Vijayawada.
  4. Ritu Shukla has been posted as ADG (M&C), PIB, Jaipur.
  5. Kripa Shankar Yadav has been posted as ADG (News), DD News, New Delhi.
  6. Pushpinder Kaur has been posted as ADG, CBC, New Delhi.
  7. Nimish Rustagi has been posted as ADG (M&C), PIB, New Delhi.

Further, three SAG officers of IIS Group ‘A’ have been transferred.

  1. Mattu J P Singh, ADG (M&C), PIB, New Delhi has been transferred and posted as ADG, Publication Division, New Delhi.
  2. Akash Luxman, ADG (News), NSD AIR, New Delhi has been transferred and posted as ADG (M&C), PIB, New Delhi.
  3. Shubha Gupta, ADG, Publication Division, New Delhi has been transferred and posted as ADG (M&C), PIB, New Delhi.

Ananga Charan Nayak appointed as Director (Finance), Sagarmala Development Company Limited

Ananga Charan Nayak, Additional General Manager (Finance), Additional General Manager (Finance), Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (MAHA-METRO), has been appointed to the post of Director (Finance), Sagarmala Development Company Limited (SDCL). According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (10.02.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways to appoint Mr. Nayak to the post for a period of five years with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Priyadarshika Srivastava appointed as Director in Ministry of Health & Family Welfare

Priyadarshika Srivastava (IRS-C&CE:2009), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Revenue, has been selected for appointment as Director in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Delhi for a period of five years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (10.02.2023), the central government appointed Ms. Srivastava to the post under the central staffing scheme for a period of five years from the date of taking over the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Kumar Rahul appointed as Director, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare

Kumar Rahul (ITradeS:2008), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Commerce (Office of Directorate General of Foreign Trade), has been selected for appointment as Director in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Delhi for a period of five years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (10.02.2023), the central government appointed Mr. Rahul to the post under the central staffing scheme for a period of five years from the date of taking over the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Centre notifies appointment of Justice Rajesh Bindal, Justice Aravind Kumar as SC Judges

The Union government on Friday (10.02.2023) notified the appointment of two more judges to the Supreme Court of India. The government issued a notice of the appointment of Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice Arvind Kumar, currently, the Chief Justices of Allahabad and Gujarat High Courts respectively, as Judges of the Supreme Court.

With their appointments, the Supreme Court will have the full working strength of 34 Judges.

On January 31, 2023, the Supreme Court Collegium recommended their names for elevation.

A judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Justice Bindal was acting Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court before he was appointed Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court in October 2021. He will hold the position for more than two years, until April 15, 2025.

Justice Kumar was a judge in the Karnataka High Court before he was appointed Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court. He will hold the office for over three years until July 13, 2026.
