Supreme Court Collegium recommends new Chief Justices for five HCs

The Supreme Court Collegium on Thursday (09.02.2023) recommended names of 5 Judges for elevation as Chief Justices of the High Courts of Calcutta, Allahabad, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and Manipur to replace incumbents who have either been elevated as apex court judges or to retire.

They are;

  1. Justice Pritinker Diwakar: Allahabad High Court.
  2. Justice T S Sivagnanam: Calcutta High Court.
  3. Justice Ramesh Sinha: Chhattisgarh High Court,
  4. Justice Sonia G Gokani: Gujarat High Court.
  5. Justice Diraj Singh Thakur: Manipur High Court.

Delhi: 11 IPS/DANIPS officers shifted, Shweta Chauhan posted as DCP, General Administration

The Union Home Ministry on Thursday (09.02.2023) ordered the transfer and posting of 11 IPS/DANIPS officers presently posted in the capital.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows :

  1. Shweta Chauhan (IPS:2010:AGMUT), DCP, Central District has been transferred and posted as DCP, General Administration.
  2. Vikram K Porwal (DANIPS:2001), DCP, General Administration has been transferred and posted as DCP, EOW.
  3. Jitendra Kumar Meena (IPS:2012:AGMUT), DCP, EOW has been transferred and posted as DCP, North West District.
  4. Usha Rangnani (IPS:2011:AGMUT), DCP, North West District has been transferred and posted as DCP, Special Branch.
  5. Joy N Tirkey (IPS:2011:AGMUT), DCP, Special Branch has been transferred and posted as DCP, North-East District.
  6. Sanjay Kumar Sain (IPS:2011:AGMUT), DCP, North-East District has been transferred and posted as DCP, Central District.
  7. Rajesh Deo (IPS:2012:AGMUT), DCP, Crime has been transferred and posted as DCP, South-East District.
  8. Esha Pandey (IPS:2010:AGMUT), DCP, South-East District has been transferred and posted as DCP, Traffic.
  9. Devesh Kumar Mahla (IPS:2012:AGMUT), DCP, Outer-North District has been transferred and posted as DCP, IGI Airport.
  10. Ravi Kumar Singh (IPS:2012:AGMUT), DCP, IGI Airport has been transferred and posted as DCP, Outer-North District.
  11. Ankit Kumar Singh (IPS:2013:AGMUT), Addl. DCP-I, North East District has been transferred and posted as DCP, Crime.

Paresh R Ranpara selected as Director (HR), Grid-India

Paresh R Ranpara has been selected for the post of Director (Human Resources), Grid Controller of India Limited (Grid-India) at a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on February 09, 2023. Presently, he is working as General Manager (Human Resources), Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited.

He will be appointed to the post of Director (Human Resources) after receiving vigilance clearances and an approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

The following 05 applicants were interviewed in the selection meeting :

Anupma Ban appointed as Director (Personnel), RVNL

Anupma Ban has been appointed to the post of Director(Personnel), Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL). According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (09.02.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Railways to appoint Ms. Ban to the post from the date of her assumption of charge of the post, or till the date of her superannuation i.e. 31.10.2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Presently, she is serving as Executive
Director (HRD), RVNL.

Dr. Lokiah Ravikumar has been appointed to the post of Director(Catering Services), Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (09.02.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Railways to appoint Mr. Ravikumar to the post for a period with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post, or till the date of his superannuation i.e. 31.07.2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Presently, he is serving as General Manager (GM), IRCTC.

Rajiv Kumar appointed as Director(Finance), BSNL

Rajiv Kumar has been appointed to the post of Director(Finance), Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for a period of five years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (09.02.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Department of Telecommunications to appoint Mr. Kumar to the post for a period of five years with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post, or till the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Presently, he is serving as General Manager (GM), BSNL.

Swati Ratna appointed as Deputy Secretary, CVC

Swati Ratna (IRS-IT:2010), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Revenue, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), Delhi for a period of four years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (09.02.2023), the central government appointed Mr. Upadhyay to the post under the central staffing scheme for a period of four years from the date of taking over the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Niraj Kumar Bansod appointed PS to Amit Shah in Cooperation Ministry

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Thursday (09.02.2023) approved appointment of Niraj Kumar Bansod (IAS:2008:CG) as Private Secretary to the Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation Amit Shah in the Ministry of Cooperation. He has been given the new assignment after the curtailment of his tenure as Director in the Cabinet Secretariat.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (09.02.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Mr. Bansod to the post for a period upto 29.08.2027 with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or co-terminus basis with the Minister or till he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister or until further orders, whichever event occurs the earliest.
