Pankaj Yadav IAS Early Life

Central Government Career
Pankaj Yadav joined the Government of India on Central Deputation after serving in several senior positions in the Haryana Government. During his central deputation, he has held two important Joint Secretary-level assignments, both approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
2 October 2022 – Appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare
On 2 October 2022, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the appointment of Pankaj Yadav, IAS (Haryana: 2001) as Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India.
According to the DoPT appointment order, he was appointed for an overall tenure of five years on Central Deputation, or until further orders, with effect from the date he assumed charge of the post.
During his tenure in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, he was associated with policy formulation, programme implementation, and administrative matters related to the agriculture sector and farmers’ welfare.
30 May 2024 – Transferred as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development
On 30 May 2024, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the appointment of Pankaj Yadav as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.
This appointment was made as part of a senior-level reshuffle in the Central Government. He assumed charge of the post on 30 May 2024 and continues to serve in this position. His posting remains under his approved Central Deputation tenure.
