The central deputation tenure of Priyanka Chandra (IDAS:2006) as Director in the Ministry of Culture has been extended by two years.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (June 27, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Culture to extend her deputation tenure for a period of two years beyond October 3, 2026, that is up to October 3, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Priyanka Chandra assumed charge of the post on October 4, 2021 for a tenure of five years.
With the latest order, her deputation tenure has been extended till October 3, 2028, before completion of her original five-year tenure.
